I have 3.1TD (1999). Garage did a turbo change for me and let the engine run with no oil and knackered the bottom end - but I can't prove it.
So, would another engine fit in without too much trouble say a 2.8 TD from a 1991?
Bit loath to buy another from a breakers as it could be knackered too.
Any advice much appreciated.
Dave

I think the 2.8 would probably fit with a bit of fiddling but why? The 3.1 is almost as long lived and if you're going to go for a reconditioned one then stick with a 3.1.

My advice is to stick with a 3.1 just done a change from a 3.1 to 2.8 fitted ok but you can feel the power difference put it down to a heavier body, plus if you need proffesional help from an isuzu dealer your looked upon like a leppar.
