I've just bled the injection pump and there did seem to be some air in it, I could hear it hissing out before I got clean diesel out. I need to take her out for a test run but first I'm gonna give the handbrake a tweak up as the dreaded MoT is due shortly this month.

Yep, the one between the four pipes to the injectors. It certainly seems to be livelier again. I need to take it for a decent run over some hills and up the motorway to check but I think this may well have been the problem.

I think it's an exhaust brake just in a strange place and on a strange model. No Mark, I don't mean your car is strange. Laughing

Guess it measures the vacuum change due to throttle position? Possibly a simple mechanical version of the one on a 3.1 that runs via the quick start?

All i can see is a pipe that goes to the gearbox, its a manual so i dont know how it can work Confused
