That's it Peej in a nutshell.....
With snow, somethimes you have to reverse a great deal and the constant locking and unlocking of the auto hubs is a big strain. Let's face it, the auto hubs are a fantastic convenience but are the weakest link in the drivetrain. With manuals, if you are likely to need 4WD on a journey then lock the hubs before you set off and save yourself getting ouut into that nasty cold air...
BTW, I am (as was pointed out earlier) only talking about early models not the later SOTF.... _________________ 1999 Cougar with a NICE motor..

Unless I'm talking out of my elbow, if you haven't got shift on the fly, you have to stop the vehicle to engage 4x4. _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

Spot on! Same applies for engaging Low Ratio on ALL motors. _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

It's all a bit gibberish to me, not well versed in anything 4x4 and don't have any kind of manual or handbook to refer to.
Could pick a time when I'm a little less tired and read through I suppose _________________ '93 Trooper Duty 3.1TD |

Got ya, I tend to glaze over a bit at times too, when I'm flagging. _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.
