the troopers oil pressure usually reads 28/30 when idleing , but last week when the weather was warmer( 70+ degrees) , the idleing oil pressure dropped to around 22/25 , does this indicate a problem at all , or is it normal .

thanks for your help.

Darren .

I would say normal, because in hotter weather the engine and oil run at slightly higher temps Smile

Most car handbooks will give a range of oil weights for different conditions, the Trooper (well my mk 1 2.8TD) is no exception, tbhh though, unless you're spending winter in the Alps or summer in the Sahara, there'll be an average weight (I use 10W40) which will cover most normal conditions found in the UK. I did find mine a little harder to turn over one morning in feb 2005 over in France when it had been down to -16C overnight pluswind chill, but that was pretty exceptional.

The service requirements for a 3.0td are 6k,according to the service book thats supplied with the vehicle.Obviously, using the vehicle over and beyond normal use ie excessive towing, off road use etc may require it to be done more often than 6k. Wink

I do mine every 3k, as most of my miles are heavy towing.

This works out to once every 6 weeks Rolling Eyes

Best place for parts and filters will be Milner's.
Prices are good and they are all interested in 4x4's.
