Well after being quoted £80 from Vauxhall for a replacement coolant temp sender for the dash I managed to find a QH part number online.

I think it is Quiton Hazell XTT53, and ordered one on eebuygum for £10, hopefully it is the right one.

IIRC, QH have gone out of business so have found a Lucas part number, SNJ500.

The QH part fits fine and when the engine is warm hovers around the middle of the gauge so looks like this is the right part.

I think the UK division of QH went into administration this year, so not gone gone.
